CALL FOR PAPERS

Research on Innovation and Innovation in Research

Following the 2021 theme of management accounting in challenging times, this year we have two areas of focus, first on how management control systems (MCS) have or could adapt to support the strategic change organisations have needed to implement in order to survive and strengthen their resilience in recent times. The second focus is on how research designs might also be changing to capture these developments in management and accounting practice so that research outputs can be approached with theoretical ambition as well as following an impact agenda. The topics may include:

Harnessing technology in management accounting and control systems
Interventionist research
Management accounting for strategic change
Positioning qualitative research evidence towards theory
Using environmental, social and governance (ESG) impacts as triage for project appraisal

Plenary speakers:

Professor Lee D. Parker, University of Glasgow, UK /RMIT

Professor Alnoor Bhimani, LSE, UK

Courtney Robinson, Finance, Analytics and Business Intelligence, Aston DBA

The conference will have a mix of plenary and parallel sessions in which research in various stages of development will be presented. PhD-students and early career researchers are particularly encouraged to present their work in this setting.
